Case study: Circular Economy for a Rural and Regional Community in Hepburn Shire.
The 'Connecting the Cricular Economy in Hepburn Shire' project was developed to scope Circular Economy (CE) readiness and identify pathways to introduce and connect the CE in Hepburn Shire. The project was funded by Hepburn Energy and Hepburn Shire and designed and delivered by Good human between August 2022 and February 2023.
Some of the key findings of the project included:

The high value of ambassador projects and locally acquired tacit learning.

Social Economy as a key driver of Circular Economy in Rural environments.

The need for 'Node jobs' build capability to connect circular loops and systems.

The need to connect and partner with Traditional owners and the opportunity to reconnect to Nature and Natural Systems.
The project identified the need for a Circular Economy Busness Toolkit to provide both education and circular business exploration tools. The toolkit is accompanied by Circular Economy strategy cards designed to support businesses to engage in activities, exercises and Circular Economy workshops.
